Rouhani asks Putin for more cooperation with Iran

[Following the U.S. pulling out of the JCPOA, Iran is facing an economic crisis, which is why it is after developing relationship with Russia.]

 TV anchor: The sideline of the summit of the Caspian Sea countries. Iranian president met with presidents of Kazakhstan, Russia, and Azerbaijan, and talked about the most important bilateral, regional, and international issues. In meeting Putin, Mr. Rouhani emphasized on the necessity of further development of the relationship between Tehran and Moscow in different fields. The president said Iran-Russia relationship has had positive impacts in different regional and international issues including Syria. Russian president pointed out to Moscow’s readiness for further developing relations with Tehran, calling JCPOA a significant international deal, and urged on preserving and strengthening it. In meeting between the presidents of Iran and Kazakhstan, developing the relationship between the two countries was stressed. Mr. Rouhani emphasized on utilizing transit capacities of Iran and Kazakhstan, saying the relationship between Tehran and Astana is friendly, strategic and developing. The president also emphasized on boosting the banking relations and using national currency in trade relations between the two countries. Kazakhstan’s president, too, called Iran a regional friend and partner, saying Astana is after strengthening relationship with Tehran and supports full implementation of the JCPOA.
