Iran summons French, Belgian ambassadors to protest arresting Iranian diplomat

 [Following the accusation against Iran to bomb MEK’s rally, Iranian foreign ministry summons French and Belgian ambassadors to protest against arresting Iranian diplomat in this regard. An Iranian diplomat has been arrested, suspected for plotting a bomb attack on the rally in France.]

 By summoning ambassadors of Belgium and France and charge-d’affaires of Germany, Iran responds to arrest of diplomat in relation to plotting a bomb attack on MEK rally in Paris: “TV anchor: Following the rally of MEK in Paris and arresting one of our country’s diplomats in Germany, ambassadors of Belgium and France and charge-d’affaires of Germany were summoned to foreign ministry in Tehran. According to foreign ministry spokesperson, political deputy of foreign minister, in meeting with French ambassador and German charge-daffaires, strongly protested against this and pointed out to diplomats’ immunity, calling for immediate and unconditional release of Iranian diplomat.”

Iran accuses MEK of trying to sabotage Iran-Europe relationship by plotting the suspected attack: “Mr. Ghassemi said that French ambassador and German charge-daffaires were reminded that this measure is a plot to sabotage Iran-Europe relationship, and presence of two members of MEK and discovery of explosive from them reveals their role in planning this. In this regard, aide to director general in European affairs in foreign ministry summoned Belgium’s ambassador and strongly protested against request for transferring Iranian diplomat from Germany to Belgium. Summoning French ambassador in Tehran, aide to director general in European affairs in foreign ministry also strongly protested against Paris’ support for MEK’s activity. Ambassadors of Belgium and France, as well as German charge-daffaires, said they will immediately report the issue to the officials in their countries.”
