The release of images of a girl dragged down and thrown on the ground by a policeman provoked a lot of reaction in social networks. The girl enthusiastic for watching a soccer match is brutally attacked by a policeman and thrown down a power pole. When people protest against this, other policemen get involved as well. This brutal incident took place in the city of Ghaem Shahr, northern Iran, where people were going to hold a ceremony to celebrate their team’s victory and its going to Iranian premier league after 24 years. But people in charge of the ceremony prevented women from entering the stadium. It has been years that the issue of Iranian women being banned by the regime from entering the stadiums for watching men’s sports has turned into an issue of discrimination against women. Human rights institutes and international authorities have protested against this discriminatory behavior.
