Host: Did you talk about this issue in your meetings?

–Let me say that what has been emphasized so far is that our trade balance is in such a way that it can provide all necessary and logical requirements of the country. Our trade balance is positive. But as he mentioned, on the other hand, our capital account is negative. As a result of the issue of smuggling and the existing loopholes, even though trade balance is positive, capital account is negative.

Therefore, what has been considered in the short run doesn’t mean restriction of resources of foreign currency. It means that we want the requirements to be transparent.

Host: Optimized management of resources.

–Exactly. Optimized management, so that we wouldn’t be providing foreign currency for smugglers and other illegal cases.

The point is to optimize management with relation to resources and using foreign currency. Then we can move forward from there.

Host: The “smuggling brothers” must be financed in other ways. As such, their money laundering and their foreign currency transaction in the black market – which must be a huge amount –  would be stopped.

–Monitoring entities and military institutions have helped us greatly and we must thank them here. They must keep fulfilling their duties in relationship with controlling smuggling and illegal cases as best as possible, helping to create stability and peace.
