Khamenei’s reaction to US air attack against Syria

This footage from April 14, 2018, shows Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, during a meeting with a group of Iranian officials and envoys from various Muslim states. At this meeting, Khamenei condemned the joint airstrikes by the US, the UK, and France on Syrian regime targets – calling the strikes a “crime” and describing the leaders of those three Western countries as “criminals.”

He stated that the three countries will gain nothing from these types of actions, as they have all been in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan for many years committing such crimes, yet achieving nothing. Khamenei pointed to comments by US President Donald Trump, who had recently stated that America spent seven trillion dollars in the Middle East and still “got nothing.” Trump “is right,” Khamenei said. “They obtained nothing, and the US will not achieve anything in the future either – no matter how much money it spends.”

He further added that the three countries will gain nothing from these types of actions, as they have all been in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan for many years committing such crimes, yet achieving nothing.

Ali Khamenei: If we believe in Tawhid, then we cannot accept injustice. This is the nature of Tawhid. We cannot accept injustice. We cannot not stand against the oppressor. That is why Islamic Republic announces that wherever there are oppressed and there is a need for victory, we will be there. That is why we so much insist on the issue of Palestine. And without any doubt, Palestinians will defeat the Zionists, and Palestine will return to Palestinians. Our standing beside the Resistance groups in western Asia is because of this. Our presence in Syria and countering the terrorists created by the U.S. and its agents in the region is because of this. The reason why we are present in western Asia is that there is resistance against injustice. Therefore, as you see, by God’s grace, the resistance, thanks to the helps it received and thanks to bravery of Syrian forces, could defeat the terrorists that were backed and even created by the U.S., the west and their agents in the region such as Saudis and others. The very people who supported ISIS openly or secretly yesterday claim today that they were present in countering and defeated them. But this is a lie. It is not true. They had no role. The U.S. president, in his speech a few hours ago, said that we could defeat ISIS in Syria. That is a blatant lie. Wherever they deemed necessary, they entered and helped, and where the main operatives of ISIS were sieged, they entered the scene and saved them. Previously, they had played a role in creating ISIS, and with Saudi’s money, they could create these evil creatures and make them attack people in Iraq and Syria. But the Resistance could save these two countries against the U.S. and U.S. agents. And it will be as such from now on. The attack last night against Syria is a crime. I clearly say it. The U.S. president, French president and British prime minister are criminals and have committed crimes. And of course, it will not be successful. They will not benefit from it, just as in past years, they became present in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, committed such crimes, and did not gain anything. Just a few days ago, the U.S. president said that they have spent 7 trillion dollars in western Asia (or in his words, the Middle East) and they haven’t gained anything. They gained nothing. The U.S must know that they will not gain anything from this region, no matter how much they spend and how much they try. This is not honorable for a country or for a Muslim country that the U.S. president would openly say that we look at them as cash cow. They look at them as cash cow. Is it honorable? In election campaigns of last year, the current U.S. president said we look at Saudis as cash cow. Can there be more dishonor for a country and a nation? They take their money, call them cash cow, and insult them. No country can be more dishonorable than this. Islam disagrees with such dishonors. If they are faithful, they must be honorable. Being dishonorable means that they are not faithful. They lie just as their masters do. The U.S. president says that we attacked Syria to fight using chemical weapons. This is a lie. They are not against using chemical weapons or any other crimes against humanity. Right now, Yemen is bombed every day and they support it.
