No fuel for Zarif’s airplane in Germany!

Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif

[An IRIB report about Germany oil companies refusing to give fuel to Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif.]

Reporter: German media exposed an incident that could become a scandal for German diplomacy: oil companies in Munich Airport refused to refuel Mr. Zarif’s airplane. Media like Spiegel, Deutsche Welle, and Frankfurter Allgemeine wrote that to avoid diplomatic controversy and scandal regarding creating a problem for Mr. Zarif’s trip to Munich Security Conference, German foreign and defense ministries had to intervene and use army’s oil tankers.

This person, Wolfgang Ischinger who was in charge of Munich Security Conference said opportunity of talking to Iranian foreign minister was about to be missed.

Reporter: Creating problems for the trip of a high-ranking political official to the host country is in contradiction with international protocols, and German authorities are expected to at least confront the oil companies in Munich Airport.
