Mohsen Rezaee, former IRGC commander and current secretary of Expediency Council
[Mohsen Rezaee, former IRGC commander and current secretary of Expediency Council, is talking about how two major political factions in Iran can no longer solve the issues. In recent protests in Iran, people took to streets chanting slogans not only against the Iranian regime but also against political factions.]
Mohsen Rezaee: Well, I don’t know if I should say this or not; I am a soldier, and I talk frankly. The truth is that the era of administering the country fractionally is over. The roots of the country’s problems can no longer be solved with the dichotomy of principlism-reformism. This game is over. If political actors haven’t realized that they cannot run the country with this game, one should say it is either because they are not paying attention, or they have realized it but are so much entangled in their own mental issues that they have lost their sense of responsibility.
