[A footage about the final sentence of Abdolrasoul Dorri Esfahani, a dual nationality in charge of baking issues during the nuclear deal negotiations. He was arrested on charge of “spying for enemy”.]
Mohseni Ejei (judiciary spokesperson): Abdulrasoul Dorri Esfahani, son of Hossein. Because this sentence is finalized now, we don’t have any legal restrictions in this regard. He had dual nationality and was one of those charged with espionage and giving intelligence to foreigners. And he was connected with two [intelligence] services. The court dealt with this issue, and given all the facts, he was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment. The five years of imprisonment in the initial court was objected to. Then it goes to the court of appeal. The court of appeal confirmed the sentence, given the contents of the case and his defenses. Therefore, the sentence is finalized, and he must do time for 5 years. He has another case which is related to financial charges – financial corruption. In that case, the bail was set. That case is still investigated. And no indictment has been issued. But his security case resulted in 5 years of imprisonment.
