IRGC, a new combat base

[An IRIB report about launching a new air force base by IRGC in southern Iran.]

REPORTER: IRGC’s Air Force logistic base in southern Iran was launched in Shiraz so that 6 southern provinces can enjoy the benefits of this combat base.

REPORTER: Seyed-ol-Shohada combat base, which after launching Fath Base in Karaj is the second logistic center for air forces in the country, has the capacity of conducting different operations in provinces of Fars, Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchistan, Kerman, Bushehr, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad.

MILITARY OFFICER: It can do most of the transportation, reconnaissance, and combat operations, as well as relief operations, in the southern part of the country.

REPORTER: All logistic facilities and equipment have been included in this complex.

MILITARY OFFICER: Some of the equipment in this base and combat group do not exist in any other bases – even in modern airports of the country.

REPORTER: Brigadier-General Salami, deputy commander of IRGC, said in the opening ceremony of this combat base that ‘the path to progress is not stoppable, and we have no option but getting and staying powerful.”

BRIGADIER-GENERAL SALAMI: We are ready to properly respond to different range of threats – at any level, from any direction, and in any scope. As I said before, during past few weeks, Iranian people and the world saw this.

REPORTER: In Seyed-ol-Shohada combat base, 50 helicopters can take off and land for different operations simultaneously.

REPORTER: The second phase of Seyed-ol-Shohada base is going to soon launch next to this complex so that more helicopters can take off and land in this base.
