Iran in Pacific and Atlantic

In this speech delivered recently, the Commander of Iran’s Naval Forces, Admiral Habibollah Sayari, confirms that the country’s navy is present in both the Pacific and Atlantic, as well as carrying out routine military exercises.

Admiral Sayari said, “In order to develop the country’s [Iran’s] defense policy, today the naval forces have left the shallow coastal waters and are now sailing in international waters.”  The commander further revealed that a flotilla of Iranian naval vessels has just completed its forty-fifth voyage around the coast of South Africa before traveling to Atlantic waters, adding, “Within five months the forty-fifth flotilla has been sailing under difficult conditions, and this has provided them [the personnel aboard] with valuable experience

Admiral Sayari also revealed that the regime has deployed 25 specialist military vessels in the waters off its northern and southern Gulf coasts
