In this footage from a recent press conference following the Iranian regime’s latest sham election, Iran’s newly‘re-elected’ President Hassan Rouhani scornfully dismisses US president Donald Trump’s harsh comments regarding the Iranian regime during the American leader’s visit to Saudi Arabia. Rouhani scoffs at President Trump’s criticisms of the ‘Islamic Republic’s’ domestic and regional brutality which has mired the Middle East in extremism, war, and sectarian bloodshed, saying, “The gathering in Saudi Arabia was just a show with no practical or political value of any kind. Who can claim in this region [the Middle East] that, without Iran, the region’s stability would be assured?”
With tens of millions of Iraqis, Syrians and Yemenis dead, maimed, starving under siege and/or relentless aerial and heavy artillery bombing and either internally displaced or forced into exile by the Iranian regime, its extremist militias and its accomplices Bashar al Assad’s regime and Vladimir Putin, plus ISIS and Al Qaeda (both of which Iran is believed to be covertly associated with) Rouhani praises this carnage, asking rhetorically, Who can claim that without Iran in this region, security would be established? Who fights against terrorism? Syrians, Iraqis, Iranians, Hezbollah and Russia. What did the others do?
Rouhani, who has overseen the regime’s regional expansionist wars, and who supervised the executions of so many people domestically in the first four years of his presidency that Iran now has the highest per capita annual execution rate globally, has been referred to as a “moderate” and “reformist” by former US President Barrack Obama and many prominent Western figures.
