[In Navad, a popular TV program about Iranian football league, Adel Ferdosipour, the host of the program, makes inappropriate remarks about the hairstyle and skin color of a Nigerian football striker, Godwin Mensha.]
Adel Ferdosipour asks about his hairstyle: Now I want to say something. And I don’t know how Nima wants to translate it. We call such hairstyle here as ‘prism hair’. What do you have to say about your particular appearance? (What can he say? What can we say? We have cases that our own player looks like this.) Do you think a lot about your appearance?
Godwin Mensha responds: I don’t know. I have had this hairstyle. And all the time I have been playing soccer, my hairstyle has been like this.
Adel Ferdosipour keeps asking: Always like that, right?
Godwin Mensha says: As you know, I am not Iranian.
Adel Ferdosipour talks about the skin color: And by the way, we are very handsome because of our skin color. You must have seen that everybody is trying to tan himself. They kill themselves with the sun and solarium and such foppish behaviors. But look how our skin color is good. We are super happy with the color of our skins, right?
Godwin Mensha is surprised: Really?
Adel Ferdosipour says: I am happy with it. Aren’t you happy with it? Come on, you are very handsome.
Godwin Mensha asserts: I think I am happy with myself.
Adel Ferdosipour continues: I look good. Look, now we look like each other.
Godwin Mensha urges: My color is beautiful.
Adel Ferdosipour agrees with him: 100%. It is excellent.
Godwin Mensha asks: Would you like to look like me?
Adel Ferdosipour answers: Why not? Right now, we are not much different. If they [cameramen] take a wide shot, we are not very much different.
