Speaking in an interview with an Iranian state news channel, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, who has been the commander of the Aerospace Force of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution since October 2009, said, “My feeling is that we did not publicize the maneuvers that have been carried out [by Iran] in the last two years in media as this might have been viewed by Americans as being a bit brazen.   This means that every [previous] year for the past 10 years, we had maneuvers and we publicized them in the media and nothing happened.  However, for the past two years, this gap has occurred and we did not promote the maneuvers in the media; the reason for this may be increasing American arrogance, and if such mistakes did not occur in our country, it seems that their arrogance would not be increased like this.”

TV Presenter: “You know that the USA has continuously imposed a sanction on those companies and individuals under the pretext that they have a role in and relation with [developing] Iranian missiles’ capabilities; do you think that these sanctions won’t inflict damage on our missiles development?

Brig. Gen. Hajizadeh, responded in a defiant tone, saying, “Such sanctions are imposed so as to intimidate our officials.  What I mean that these sanctions, as we already said, have no effect on us.  If they put wire fences and enclosures all around our country, missile production will not be stopped in the nation.”

He asserted, “They [Americans] are just trying to intimidate the officials. They frighten the officials through threats of military invasion. They frighten the officials by the imposition of sanctions.”

The senior official continued: “This fearfulness from our officials is indeed the biggest threat to us. Our recommendations to our officials are that they don’t be scared and don’t be worried.  If there is supposedly something going to happen, we are the first people who must respond and be responsible for it, and on this, we don’t have any worries. Our worry comes from inside the country; our worry is internal and stems from our senior officials and brothers.  Our worry originates from those people whose actions and attitudes affect the spirit of decision-making by our officials. Thus, they should not be fearful and instead must stand firm, and nothing will happen.”

Brig. Gen. Hajizadeh concluded the interview by asserting that by examining Iran itself, all the country’s problems would be resolved.

The presenter: Thank you so much Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh who is commander of Aerospace Force of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution
